Timberline Forestry provides wildfire mitigation and defensible space creation, forest health assessments, premium beetle-kill firewood, and commercial and HOA forest services throughout the Rio Grande National Forest region of southwestern Colorado. Every service we offer is connected to a single mission: reducing wildfire risk and improving forest health across a landscape that has lost more than 617,000 acres to beetle kill since 1996. Our work is purposeful, not opportunistic and if your property doesn’t need work, we’ll tell you that.
How Our Services Work Together
Most customers start with a Forest Health Assessment — a clear-eyed evaluation of what their property actually needs. From there, mitigation and firewood services work together: trees removed during defensible space projects become firewood, which reduces the net cost of mitigation while putting the timber to use rather than leaving it to rot or burn.
For property owners who aren’t sure where to start: the assessment is the right first step. For those who already know their property needs thinning, or who need firewood delivered ahead of the season, we can move directly to a quote. For HOA boards and commercial managers, we recommend a site visit before scoping any project.

Where do I start if I don’t know what my property needs?
A Forest Health Assessment is the right first step. It’s a two-hour, on-site evaluation of your property’s beetle activity, fire risk, and forest condition. You’ll receive a written summary with honest prioritization of what needs attention and what can wait. The $250 assessment fee is credited toward any mitigation project booked within 90 days. There’s no pressure to proceed and no upsell.
Can I order firewood without scheduling a mitigation project?
Yes. Firewood is available as a standalone service. All our firewood is sourced from local mitigation projects — beetle-kill timber that would otherwise become wildfire fuel. Full cords are delivered and stacked at your location. We also offer subscription plans for STR operators and vacation rental managers who need reliable deliveries scheduled ahead of the season.
Do you work with HOAs and property management companies?
Yes. We provide community-scale wildfire mitigation, common area fuel reduction, Firewise USA compliance support, and multi-property firewood contracts. We carry $2M general liability coverage and provide documentation appropriate for HOA and commercial clients.
